The Balkans have always present a great project for the online and land based gambling industry with top gaming companies outsourcing their services in the region. The region has also provided some of the largest operators which are active in the regulated markets of the neighboring countries.
Earlier this year (in July) the Serbian President presented Serbia’s Balancing Act which also included the gambling reforms while in Croatia, sports betting, casino, poker, bingo, and lottery are the products that are currently regulated by the local market. Apart from lottery services, which are provided by the state monopoly, literally any operator can apply for a license for the operation of any of the other gambling services.
The Balkan panel, which is titled as “The Balkan Gambling Opportunity” is scheduled to be held between 9:30 – 10:15 AM (Budapest Local Time) on the 19th of September (Day 1) during the second edition of the Central and Eastern European Gaming Conference Budapest. (you can view the full agenda here)

With a rich activity in the gambling industry, which he joined once graduation from the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, Bogdan Coman contributes to the good work of the Rombet Association through the experience of planning and organizing activities in the field of gambling. He built national projects, led complex teams, and was responsible for meeting performance indicators in the companies he worked for or collaborated with.
Rombet – The association of the gambling industry in Romania
Rombet is one of the most representative and active associations of the Romanian gambling industry. Led by Dan Alexandru Ghiță, former manager of the Romanian Lottery, Rombet aims at protecting the interests of its ever growing number of members, who are operators that engage in both landbased and online gambling activities, as well as representing them in front of national and international authorities from this field.
Our association had an important role in the developing the legal gambling framework in Romania and is now engaged in various activities that range from explaining the current legislation to all those who hold an interest in the area, to implementing Responsible Gambling projects and representing Romania at all important international events of the industry.
